New fabrics arrived today for a warmer winter version of the #Pumphose (these were summery jersey). Looking forward to make more 🤗!

When I pulled these baby pants off the laundry rack today after washing them (for the umpteenth time 😊), I remembered that I haven't shown them here yet.

I made these super easy trousers a few months ago. In German they're called #Pumphose. No clue how that translates 🤔!

The little bum moves through the house like a rocket, so the fabric is very appropriate 😂!

The little man had his first birthday about two weeks ago! Unbelievable, how fast that first year as a family of three + 🐶 went by...

I wanted to start the little tradition of making him a birthday t-shirt each year. This is the first one! I took a plain dark blue shirt and used the @brothersewingcraft #scanncut to cut the '1'. I used one layer of @hobbyplotter.de #speedflex in white and one layer of their #premiumflock in mint.

I added iron-on soap bubbles in the same colours by @stuffandbutton. Love how it turned out!

Thinking about the next bag I'd like to sew which is a bit ironic actually since I'd prefer to run out of the house without a bag! 😂

It'll probably be something small to fit my phone and a few bare necessities... Any suggestions?

Hurray! My Apex Carry is all finished and photographed (which is always a bit of a thing 😂)!

I made the standard size and the photo shows my second hack to the pattern: I added a cross-body carrying strap and left out the long carrying handles at the top because I prefer to carry a bag that way 😏.

On the inside, I added a bottle holder for a water bottle (thank you @fadenfaehrte)!

Apart from sewing this bag on my new machine (a first-time thing), there were a few more 'firsts' with this one. All very well explained by Sarah @incompletestitches in her pattern!

I'm very happy with how the bag turned out! Isn't it just lovely when something works out just as you have it in your head? 🤗

Vor fast genau einem Jahr war ich zum ersten Mal zu Gast beim @einfach_naeher_podcast und hatte es mit Tanja über meine Brother Nähmaschine. Wer die Folge (Nummer 16) gehört hat, weiß, dass ich über eine neue Maschine nachdachte. Nicht weil die Brother nicht mehr gut war, sondern weil ich mich rausgewachsen fühlte 🤗).

Und so plaudern Tanja und ich nun zum zweiten Mal miteinander und zwar über meine neue Errungenschaft: Eine Janome Continental M8. Ich berichte was für mich bei der Entscheidung wichtig war und warum es diese Maschine geworden ist! Hüpft also rüber und hört euch Folge 66 an, wenn ihr Lust habt!

Almost done! Just one line of top stitching left to do!

I had a lot of fun sewing this bag with the my new @janomedeutschland M8! I mainly used the Acufeed HP foot and that one doesn't really care about how much layers of fabric are being sewn at once. It just works! (And it works best if you actually remember to enable the Acufeed function on the machine... That's new for me and I still forget about it every now and then 😂!)

With the introduction of this model, Janome improved the integrated needle threader. I switched threads a zillion times on this project and I can say that it works flawlessly with both thin and thicker threads (up to 28wt for top stitching).

Details, details... I love them!

For once, I recalled that I've built a label stash over time and that I should use them (I tend to forget about them 🙄)! So, I picked a few and added them to my #apexcarry. The statements are so true for this project!

I did make an addition to the pattern (sorry Sarah!). I wanted a dedicated place for my phone on the outside of the bag where it's protected (from keys etc) and also easily accessible.

And can we please admire how lovely the stripes of the lining line-up? Planning this project definitely started even before cutting which is not typically me 🤣! I usually think about these kinds of details afterwards, when it's too late!
