And here’s the proof that the hat fits perfectly! I particularly like the folded brim, because it keeps my ears warm 🤗.

I went down one needle size compared to the needles suggested in the pattern. I think that the yarn that Greta used in her sample has a bit more volume (especially after blocking) and this yarn is more compact.

The fit is perfect though and I like the stitch definition 🥰!

It was fun to knit cables again!

I finished my hat just in time for the return of #winter! I just don’t need it right now, because we are currently in warm and sunny Andalusia enjoying a short break!

Swipe to see the crown of the hat without the pompon… it looks so pretty!

I block hats using a balloon (don’t inflate it too much) that I place on a bowl. That works perfect for me!

This month’s #nähgang project is a revised vers

This month’s #nähgang project is a revised version of boxy pouch Pekka. I’ve made the original version with canvas about three years ago and I use it a lot for small knitting projects like docks. It fits everything I need and I can take it along with me in a bag for knitting-on-the-go 🤗.

No question I had to sew a patchwork version using the 2.0 version of the pattern. I used leftover HST’s and picked matching fabrics for the panel. And I love the striped zipper (a gift with an order from @spreefee.bagmaking.supplies).

This second Pekka is a little wonky, but I’m fine with it. Perfect again for sock or hat knitting stuff!

I’m knitting the Salve Hat by Gretna Mensen. The pattern starts with a ribbed brim which I like a lot! It’ll keep my ears nice and warm 🥰.

The first few rows of ribbing are always a bit tricky I think and I have to concentrate on my knitting as you can’t see the stitches very clear yet. But after a few rows/rounds I can just switch of and do mindless knitting. I’m always a bit surprised how easily my hands remember a stitch pattern 😉.

The Shifty Sweater is drying on the blocking board

The Shifty Sweater is drying on the blocking boards (and it’s looking soooo good!) and before I start another garment (a big knit in my perception), I need a small, one-skein project in-between…

I bought this skein of yarn a little over a year ago, took a cute photo and immediately caked it into a ball with the intention to make a hat. I took it with me on a short holiday and it returned home with me in exactly the same shape 😂!

It’s finally time to knit that hat now, especially since it’s still quite chilly when I go out with the dog!

The Christmas socks are finished! And instead of saying that I didn’t finish them in time for the holidays I’ve decided that I will look at it from the positive side: I’m prepared for Christmas this year! My socks are done in time 😂!

And I might wear them as well in the meantime too!

About two weeks before Christmas I started a pair

About two weeks before Christmas I started a pair of DK knitted socks. I was feeling confident that I would be able to finish them in time for Christmas, because DK socks are quite quick, right? 🙄

Needless to say that I didn’t finish them in time 😂. One sock was almost done though.

This is the start of sock number two. I’m doing a kind of improvised broken rib pattern on the front and the leg. Swipe to see how the yarn knits up in stockinette… isn’t that pretty? 🥰
