Our weekend was exciting, but not in a very positi

Our weekend was exciting, but not in a very positive sense... Bono, our furry pal, needed emergency surgery last Saturday.

We noticed a sudden change in his behaviour and he was clearly signalling us that something was wrong. Luckily, our vet could see him immediately and an hour and a half later he was in surgery. The ultrasound showed fluids in his abdomen. The cause turned out to be a ruptured spleen which was removed during surgery.

We got to take him home with us on Saturday evening and he is recovering really well! He’s eating well (while sitting down, swipe to see) and the sound of the fridge door doesn’t go unnoticed (there could be cheese!). We go out on short walks again too.

It was a rough weekend, because there was a risk that we had to take a tough decision while he was in surgery... thankfully, it was not necessary. I do need to catch up on some sleep though! And so does Bono! ❤️

🐣 Easter Sock Progress 🐣

I casted on a new sock over the last weekend and this is my progress so far. It took me a while to figure out how to twist the yarns when changing colour (to prevent cutting after each stripe). Lesson learned: look it up immediately, it saves time! 😂

I’m about to start the heel now and I love how they’re turning out! The white and grey from Sylvia’s Pebble collection are perfect together! 👌🏻

This was one week ago: knitting in our sunny garde

This was one week ago: knitting in our sunny garden wearing a top and a skirt 😎. The past three days we’ve had a change of season about every hour with snow, hail, rain and a bit of sunshine ❄️. And I’m wearing a warm jumper again! For the records: it's April! 🤔

Nevertheless, my #lovenotesweater has grown a lot! It’s such a nice knit!

Our furry pal turns 9 today! There was pan-fried chicken liver for lunch (after we went for a walk in the woods) and this evening there were pizza edges for dessert. He loves the crispy edges and I think he knows when it’s Friday (aka pizza night 🍕)! 😂

I was a good girl: I made a swatch before starting

I was a good girl: I made a swatch before starting my #lovenotesweater. That turned out to be a good thing because my gauge was just a tad too loose using the recommended needle size. So, I went down just one size for my sweater.

Love how this yarn looks when knitted ❤️!

I mentioned this yarn when I posted about the project bag a few days ago.

I’ve picked this yarn to knit a #lovenotesweater. The original pattern is made using a fingering yarn held together with a strand of mohair and @tincanknits suggest in their pattern to substitute those with a DK weight yarn.

I have found this @litlg DK twist in bronze at @stephen.and.penelope. It’s very nice to knit with!
